There used to be a sign called the "Honour Roll" in Cenotaph park that listed the names of all Lakefield veterans that served during WW2 in the armed forces, that returned home alive. During the construction of Sanitary sewers' in the 1970's this sign was removed by the Village of Lakefield and has not been seen since. I think its time we restore this sign and commemorate the efforts of so many individuals and their sacrifices that literally guaranteed the freedoms we have today.
